Patient Summary
Mr. Jonathan Olsen presented for a virtual consultation seeking both functional and aesthetic improvements to his nose. Following orthognathic (jaw) surgery 10 years ago to correct an underbite, he has noted ongoing functional breathing difficulties, specifically a collapse of the nasal sidewalls upon deep inhalation, leading to chronic mouth breathing, mouth taping, and snoring.
Aesthetically, he wishes to refine the protruding nasal tip to achieve a more balanced facial profile. His medical history notes childhood epistaxis (nosebleeds) treated with cauterization—which is currently stable—and nasal rosacea, which is well-managed. During the consultation, Dr. Palapong also observed hyponasal speech, further indicating restricted airflow.
